JOB SUMMARY:

Manages and directs all operations for the Elk Valley Casino during their assigned shift toward predetermined goals and objectives, based on profit and return on investment, by performing the following duties personally or through delegation of duties to other Casino employees. May be assigned specific supervisor functions over other departments by the Floor Operations Manager or General Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for providing our customers with prompt and friendly service while maintaining an enriching work environment for our team. Provide an example of excellent customer service for all employees.
• Manage and direct the day-to-day operations of the Casino during assigned shift.
• Keep accurate records and generate reports on a timely basis.
• Ensure that all shifts are properly staffed.
• Oversee all employees during assigned shift to ensure that casino policies and procedures are followed.
• Be able to work flexible schedules including shifts, public holidays, weekends and peak business times.
• Enforce and review all company policies and procedures in the Casino and recommend changes for improvement to the Floor Operations Manager.
• Safeguard all assets of the Casino.
• Make recommendations to department managers regarding performance of employees and effectiveness of staffing levels.
• Assist in training of personnel in the proper performance of their duties.
• Communicate with department managers and other shift managers.
• Mediate and settle any disputes on their assigned shift, communicate any that have not been resolved to other shift managers and the Floor Operations Manager.
• Attend management meetings and inform personnel of pertinent information.
• Train new CSM as needed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Directly supervises employees in the Casino. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include any or all of the following: interviewing, recommend for hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Associates degree in approved related field/s or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; and five (5) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present and provide information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATH SKILLS:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as discounts, interest, fractions, ratios, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Review and/or audit internal documents to ensure accuracy of purchases, revenue, and errors of transaction.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to solve complex problems and deal with a variety of uncertain variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret, communicate, and delegate instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to quickly evaluate alternatives and suggest a plan of action as necessary.

To perform this job, successfully, an individual should have knowledge in basic computer skills; Outlook e-mail, internet, printing, faxing and copying.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS:

Must qualify for and maintain an Elk Valley Rancheria Gaming license and currently have a valid driver’s license.

The following trainings will be offered post-employment and are required within the training schedule timeframe: Title 31, First Aid, blood borne pathogens, sexual harassment prevention supervisory, sexual harassment prevention, preventing and managing computer related injuries, safety orientation, incident investigation, workplace violence, Responsible Beverage Service (RBS), back safety, aerial & scissor lift, drug and alcohol abuse for managers, hazard communications, cyber security, office safety and office ergonomics.
