JOB SUMMARY:

Serves food and beverages to Casino guests and ensures customer satisfaction and encourages repeat business. Assists with the expediting in the Full House Restaurant.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reviews menu and daily specials at the start of each shift.
Takes customers orders, gives advice and suggestions on menu choices, relays orders to the kitchen, and delivers food and beverages to tables.
Be familiar with the POS (point of sales). Use order codes on guest checks as necessary.
Maintains a constant watch on assigned section of the dining room to ensure that all of the guests receive prompt and cordial service.
Provides customers with a meal check in a timely manner and may take payment to the cashier/server, returning change, receipt or credit card to the guest.
Assists in keeping the restaurant in a clean, safe order, and maintaining stock.
Resolves customer complaints or concerns, or refers them to management to ensure superior service to the Resort guest.
Assist other waitpersons with the preparation and completion of plates. Prepare toast, gathers necessary condiments, etc.
Organize food orders so that they are delivered in the proper order.
Aid in correcting mistakes or returned food orders.
Provides constructive input to foster process improvement within the department.
Occasionally cover the bar during Bartenders breaks if 21 or over.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This job requires no supervisory responsibilities

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or one (1) to three (3) months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Must have the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. This includes the ability to communicate effectively in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees of the organization.

MATH SKILLS:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, tips, and return on cash transactions.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

No computer skills are necessary for this position

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS:

Must qualify for and maintain an Elk Valley Rancheria Gaming license.

The following trainings will be offered post-employment and are required within the training schedule timeframe: Title 31, ServSafe, TIPS, sexual harassment prevention, ladder safety, safety orientation for food service, safety orientation, back safety, hazard communication and office ergonomics.
