JOB SUMMARY:

With the direction of the Tribal Support Coordinator, the Summer Intern will work with department managers and supervisors in all areas of the Elk Valley Rancheria. The intern will provide support for departments, shadow the managers and assist with special projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• General administrative support as needed and determined by managers.
• Physical support as needed in the community garden and assisting special events.
• Attend governmental and business meetings.
• Perform clerical duties.
• Learn technical skills related to Tribal Government.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This job requires no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Must be enrolled in High School if a minor. Otherwise, a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Must have the ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.

MATH SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

To perform this job, successfully, an individual should have knowledge in basic computer skills; Outlook e-mail, internet, printing, faxing and copying.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS:

Must possess a valid driver license, unless under the age of 18.

The following trainings will be offered post-employment and are required within the training schedule timeframe: sexual harassment prevention, fire safety, ladder safety, safety orientation, back safety, hazard communication and bloodborne pathogens.
