Vault Cashier

Reports To:






Position requires accuracy in cash handling and balancing out daily vault reports. In addition, this position further requires exemplary customer service as evidenced by greeting customers with a smile and providing any necessary services the customer may request.


Account for all money received during the previous day.
Verify checks, bad money and department deposits.
Verify all other currency with the count team.
Responsible for all daily paperwork to be completed properly and accurately: daily vault transaction worksheet, bank deposits and bank fills.
Provide bank fills to the cage, bingo and ATM’s after being verified by the Cage/Vault Manager or by a Shift Manager.
Have all checks and bank deposit slips ready for the previous day for bank pickup.
Have Shift Manager verify vault when paperwork and fills to the bank have been completed.
Responsible for recording and keeping track of all funds.

Customer Service & Marketing
- You are responsible for providing our customers with prompt, friendly and Superior Customer Service. To provide our guests an entertaining gaming experience and enriching work environment for our team.
- Ability to communicate effectively with any customer and casino employees at all levels.
- Able to assist with the implementation of promotions and advertising to increase business.
- Enroll new customers in the Casino Player’s Club.
- Take coupons and/or digital offers and record information into a computer program.
- Interacts with guests throughout the Casino to increase their awareness and utilization of the Slot Club Card.
- Transfer and answer phones in a professional and courteous fashion.
- Conduct self always in a manner that reflects and encourages others to do the same.
- Must be well groomed, friendly and helpful while maintaining a professional appearance, manner and attitude.
- Assist the Marketing Director with promotional activities.

Cash Handling
- Responsible for maintaining and balancing a cash bank.
- Verifies opening and closing of banks with other cashiers on duty.
- Issuing and receiving documents with appropriate signatures required for effective segregation of functions in the cage.
- Fills department banks according to Casino standards.
- Ensure that customers sign all required documentation (ie: slot jackpots) must be verified and signed by required management.
- Responsible for understanding and following Title 31 standards.
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently without direct supervision.
- Other duties as assigned by management.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.


High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one (1) to three (3) months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Ability to read and interpret documents such as procurement, governmental and internal policies and procedures. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, vendors, or employees of the organization.


Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, tips, and return on cash transactions.


Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


To perform this job, successfully, an individual should have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, internet, faxing, printing, copying, and Oasis Player Tracking system experience a plus. Must type at a minimum of 25 words per minute.


Must qualify for and maintain an Elk Valley Rancheria gaming license. Additional training will be mandatory included but not limited to Title 31.
