JOB SUMMARY:

Greets and caters to guests to ensure their satisfaction and generate repeat business. Responsible for directing the flow of activity in the dining room. Assists the F&B Supervisor in the efficient operation of the restaurant and insures that the quality of service is the best at all times. Seats guests as they come in and busses tables, if needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Greets restaurant guests and escorts them to their tables, rotating seating evenly between all stations. Encourages repeat business.
• Maintains supplies and equipment needed for the dining room operations.
• Responds to guest phone calls.
• Maintains a constant watch on the entire dining room to ensure that guests are receiving prompt and cordial service.
• Resolves or refers to management customers concerns, complaints or suggestions.
• Provides constructive input to foster process improvement within the department.
• Be familiar with the POS (point of sales). Use order codes on guest checks as necessary.
• Provides customers with a meal check in a timely manner and may take payment to the cashier/server, returning change, receipt or credit card to the guest.
• Will act as a Cashier for guests in the restaurant when they have completed their visit.
• Responsible for maintaining company assets when handling transactions.
• Organize food orders so that they are delivered in the proper order.
• Aid in correcting mistakes or returned food orders.
• Other Duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This job requires no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or one (1) to three (3) months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Must have the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. This includes the ability to communicate effectively in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees of the organization.

MATH SKILLS:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, tips, and return on cash transactions.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

No computer skills are necessary for this position

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS:

Must qualify for and maintain an Elk Valley Rancheria Gaming license.

The following trainings will be offered post-employment and are required within the training schedule timeframe: Title 31, ServSafe, RBS, sexual harassment prevention, ladder safety, safety orientation for food service, safety orientation, back safety, bloodborne pathogens, hazard communication and office ergonomics.
