JOB SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the EVREDCO Fuel Venture General Manager, the Supervisor will oversee operations and employees during their scheduled shifts. This position will be key in ensuring the staff meets its goals of efficiency and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have retail skills and familiarity with the operations of a Fuel Mart. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills are a must. Interpersonal and mediation skills will be critical as this position will serve as liaison between employees and customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be added to, changed, or deleted at the sole discretion of management.

• Provide direction and feedback to workers during shifts
• Schedule employee shifts and assign duties
• Train and coach new employees
• Inspect equipment and communicate the need for repairs or replacements to the General Manager
• Check cash drawers for accuracy and prepare bank deposits
• Ensure health and safety standards are followed
• Address customer and employee complaints
• Foster and maintain a positive work environment
• Maintain a professional and clean environment

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Directly supervises employees in the Elk Valley Tribal Fuel Mart. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, recommend for hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one (1) to three (3) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as procurement, governmental and internal policies and procedures. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, vendors, or employees of the organization.

MATH SKILLS:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as discounts, interest, fractions, ratios, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Review and/or audit internal documents to ensure accuracy of purchases, revenue, and errors of transaction.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to quickly evaluate alternatives and suggest a plan of action as necessary.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Outlook e-mail, internet, faxing, printing, copying, POS programs, and signage changes & interaction with the Casino customer service/rewards program.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS:

Must receive UST Certification if hired.

The following trainings will be offered post-employment and are required within the training schedule timeframe: Sexual harassment prevention, ergonomics, safety orientation, workplace violence/active shooter, back safety, fire safety, personal protective equipment, ladder safety, ServSafe, hazard communication, bloodborne pathogen, lockout/tagout and CA LEAD training.
